Affiliates
Your society already gives this advice. Get paid for it.
20% of every subscription and 10% of every service, for 12 months after someone first buys with your code. One monthly subscriber who stays the year is £96.
Say this out loud
Affiliates are paid. That is the whole arrangement, and you have to tell people: We earn a commission if you buy through this code. It does not change what you pay. A code never changes what anybody pays. Your members are charged the published price with it or without it, and the commission comes out of our margin, not out of their pocket.
What it pays
Two rates, because the two things cost us different amounts. A subscription is content we have already written and a few pence of hosting, so a real share of it can go to you. A CV review or a coaching hour is an evening of an actuary’s time, and the same share of that hour is not there to give away.
Monthly

Annual
£50£249.99 at 20%, on the year they buy
Lifetime
£79.80£399 at 20%, once
CV review
£3.90£39 at 10%, each time they buy, for a year
Cover letter review add-on
£1£9.99 at 10%, each time they buy, for a year
Mock interview
£6.90£69 at 10%, each time they buy, for a year
1-1 coaching
£6.90£69 at 10%, each time they buy, for a year
A member who subscribes monthly is worth £8 a month to you for as long as they stay, up to a year. One who buys a CV review is worth £3.90. Thirty members doing the first is £240 a month.
Codes earn from the day they are issued.
A code, not a tracking link
Most affiliate programmes give you a link that drops a cookie. A cookie does not survive a slide at the careers evening, the photograph half the room takes of that slide, or a message somebody forwards to a friend who buys three weeks later. A code does, because the person carries it rather than the browser.
Your code looks like
BAYES-2026
Your society and the year your committee took office. The year is there because committees hand over every summer and the money should hand over with them. Capitals and hyphens do not matter: we read it the same way whether it is typed off a slide or out of a group chat.
There is no code box at checkout yet, so your members send us the code instead: one line to hello@acttuary.com with the code and the email address they bought under, any time up to a week after they buy. We match it by hand. Tell them to do it and most of them will, because the money goes back to their own society.
Nothing is stored on anybody’s device, so there is no cookie banner and nothing to consent to.
What your members get
The honest answer, because you are going to be asked it in front of a room.
- The same price you pay. A code never changes what anybody pays. Your members are charged the published price with it or without it, and the commission comes out of our margin, not out of their pocket. No code makes it cheaper and no code makes it dearer, so nobody in that room is worse off for having listened to you.
- Everything that is already free. The free cheatsheets, every tool on the site and the preview lessons in every course need no code and no account. Lead with those, not with us: the free tools are the part of this your members will thank you for first.
- A society with money in the account. The commission can be paid straight to the society. Every member who was going to buy anyway funds the next careers evening instead of funding our advertising.
Who we say yes to
- University actuarial and maths society committees, applying as the society. This is who the programme was built for, and the commission can be paid to the society's own account.
- Course reps and student ambassadors on an actuarial or actuarial-science-adjacent degree.
- Anyone running a genuine UK actuarial careers audience: a newsletter, a YouTube channel, a study group.
And who we do not
- Anyone under 18. A commission arrangement is a contract, and a minor's is voidable.
- Employers, recruiters and universities recommending us to people they assess or teach. The conflict is not disclosable away.
- Anyone who would rather not say they are paid. Disclosure is the condition, so this rules itself out.
- Paid search on our name, or anything that puts a code in front of somebody already on their way to us. It buys us nothing and we would be paying for a sale we already had.
How to join
One email, no form.
Email hello@acttuary.com with the details below. We answer within 5 working days, and a real person reads it.
- 1Your society or audience, and your role in it.
- 2Roughly how many actuarial students you reach, and how you reach them.
- 3The code you want. Your society's name and the year your committee took office is the convention.
- 4Where the money should go: a society account, or a personal one.
Getting paid. Commission clears 30 days after the payment it came from, because that is how long a subscriber has to change their mind. Once your cleared balance reaches £20, email us and we pay by UK bank transfer within 10 working days of asking. There is no dashboard yet and we would rather say so than build a page that shows you a number nobody is watching. Ask any time and we will send you the statement we are paying against.
The terms, in full
All of them, on the page, because an agreement you have to email for is one nobody reads.
- What earns commission
- Every payment somebody makes to us in the 12 months after their first purchase with your code, at the rates above. A monthly subscription earns on each month it renews inside that window. A one-off service earns each time they buy one.
- What does not
- Your own purchases. Anything bought more than 12 months after the first one. Payments we refund or lose to a chargeback, including anything returned under the 30-day subscription guarantee, which is why commission clears after 30 days rather than on the day it is paid.
- You must say you are paid
- Every time you share the code, in the same place you share it. We earn a commission if you buy through this code. It does not change what you pay. Those words, or #ad on a social post, or anything else that is as clear. Concealing it breaches the DMCC Act 2024 and ends the arrangement. Do not post a review of us anywhere while you hold a code. A paid recommendation dressed as an ordinary customer review is the one thing in this area that is a criminal offence and not merely a fine.
- The price is the price
- A code never changes what anybody pays. Your members are charged the published price with it or without it, and the commission comes out of our margin, not out of their pocket. Do not tell anybody the code gets them a discount, because it does not, and a discount we then fail to apply is our problem as much as yours.
- How you are paid
- UK bank transfer, within 10 working days of asking, once your cleared balance is at least £20. Email hello@acttuary.com with your code and we will send you the statement we are paying against. Below the threshold the balance waits; it does not expire.
- Tax is yours
- We do not deduct anything. Commission paid to a students' union society is usually its own affair, and commission paid to you personally is yours to declare. If you are not sure which you are, ask your union before you apply.
- Either of us can stop
- You can stop any time. We can end a code or the whole programme with 30 days' notice, and we will pay everything already earned. We will end a code without notice only for the disclosure rule, for paid search on our name, or for anything that misrepresents what we sell.
Acttuary is independent and not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, and nothing we sell carries exam exemptions. Please do not imply otherwise when you share the code. Read what you would be recommending before you recommend it. See pricing.
