Refunds & cancellation
Last updated 28 August 2026
Monthly, annual and lifetime access include a 30-day money-back guarantee. Monthly and annual memberships can also be cancelled at any time to stop future renewals. All of it sits on top of your statutory rights.
Membership: 30-day money-back guarantee
Every plan (monthly, annual and lifetime) carries a 30-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked. Email hello@acttuary.com within 30 days of your first payment and we refund it in full, to the card you paid with, within 14 days at the outside and usually the same day.
Cancelling a membership
Cancel anytime, yourself, from your account: no emails, no phone calls, no retention scripts. Cancelling stops future renewals and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. The same screen lets you switch between monthly and annual, update your card and download your invoices. Lifetime access has nothing to cancel: it is one payment and never renews.
Your statutory 14-day cooling-off right
Buying online gives you 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. For digital content that right is lost only if you consent to getting it immediately and acknowledge losing the right, which is exactly what the tick box at checkout is, and why we put a 30-day guarantee behind it. In practice the guarantee is the longer and simpler right, so you are better off under it either way.
For a service (a CV review, a mock interview, a coaching hour) the same 14 days apply, but the rule is different: if you ask us to start (or to hold the session) inside those 14 days, you keep the right to cancel until the service has been performed, and we may charge for what we did before you cancelled. Once it has been fully performed, the right is used up. That is why both checkouts ask you to tick something rather than assuming it.
CV review
- Before we start work: full refund on request, within the 14-day period.
- Once work has started: the CV-review checkout asks you to expressly request that we begin inside the 14 days. If you then cancel part-way, we can deduct a proportionate amount for the work already done.
- Once the review is fully delivered: the statutory cancellation right has been used up, but if the work is not what we promised, say so and we will redo it or refund it.
Booked sessions (mock interviews and 1-1 coaching)
A session is different from a CV review because we hold an hour open for you. All times below are UK time, the same as everywhere else on the site.
- More than 24 hours before: move it or cancel it yourself from the link in your confirmation email. A cancellation at that notice is refunded in full, every time.
- Inside 24 hours: email hello@acttuary.com as soon as possible. We will try to move the session where we reasonably can. If you cancel instead, any refund will be calculated under the terms below, taking account of work already carried out. Where you asked us to start inside your 14-day cancellation period, that is the proportionate deduction the Consumer Contracts Regulations allow.
- No-show: if you have not joined within 15 minutes of the start time we treat the session as delivered and no refund is due. This is stated before you pay. We may offer a rebooking at our discretion where exceptional circumstances apply. This does not affect the contractual no-show rule.
- If we cancel, or we fail to show up: you choose a full refund or a free rebook.
- Once the session has taken place: the statutory cancellation right is used up, because that is what you expressly asked for at checkout. Your Consumer Rights Act rights are untouched: if the session was not carried out with reasonable care and skill, say so and we will put it right or refund it.
- Technology failures: if our link or our connection is what stopped the session going ahead, that counts as us cancelling, and the line above applies.
We do not promise an outcome from any session, and no refund is conditional on one. What we promise is the hour, the preparation and the written feedback.
Renewals
Annual plans renew automatically and we send a reminder email before the renewal date. If the renewal price changes, we will tell you before the new price is charged, which is the same rule the terms of service state. If a renewal still catches you out, tell us promptly and we will refund it.
How to exercise a cancellation right
To cancel within the 14 days, tell us in a clear statement before the period ends. Email hello@acttuary.com is enough, and sending it in time is what counts, not when we read it. You can use this wording if you want a form to copy:
To Acttuary, hello@acttuary.com: I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the following: [the plan or service you bought], ordered on [date]. Name: [your name]. Email used at checkout: [your email]. Date: [today].
Something wrong?
If content or a service is faulty or not as described, statutory remedies under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply: repair, replacement or refund. Email hello@acttuary.com and we’ll sort it.
How refunds are paid
Always back to the original payment method, through Stripe, in the currency you paid. We do not make refunds by bank transfer, and we never charge a fee to process one.
