1-1 coaching
One-to-one help with your actuarial application
Delivered by an actuary
Your session is run by an actuary who understands the profession and the types of questions asked in actuarial recruitment.
£69 per hour
Members pay £55.20 per hour: 20% off, a saving of £13.80.
A £39.99 a month subscription would take £13.80 off this booking and off every CV review, and opens every course while you prepare.
Your agenda, worked through
Bring the question you want to solve. That might be employer shortlists, application strategy, practice-area choices, an interview that did not go as planned, exam and exemption questions, or deciding between offers.
Advice from inside the profession
Talk through your options with someone who understands actuarial work, graduate recruitment and the professional qualification. The advice is based on your circumstances rather than generic application guidance.
Preparation before we meet
We read the information you provide when booking before the call so that the session can start with your actual situation rather than spending the first part of the hour collecting background.
A written action plan
You leave with clear next steps in priority order, including what to do first and what can wait.
The hour, minute by minute
Every session follows the same basic structure.
- BeforeTell us what you want to solveUse the booking form to explain the question or decision you want help with. We read it before the call.
- 0 to 10 minGet the context clearWe confirm where you are now, what you have already tried and what you want to leave the session knowing.
- 10 to 45 minWork through the optionsWe discuss the realistic choices, the advantages and drawbacks of each and the information that should drive the decision.
- 45 to 60 minAgree the next stepsWe turn the discussion into a clear action plan in priority order.
- AfterWritten action planYou receive the written plan after the session, with one week of email follow-up for short questions arising from what we discussed.
Before the call
When you book, tell us what you want to use the hour for and include any context that would help us prepare. If there is a relevant Acttuary lesson, guide or tool that would be useful beforehand, we will point you to it.
What your action plan covers
- Your position
- Where you are now, what you are targeting and the main issue holding up the next step.
- Evidence and examples
- Any experience, skills or examples you should use more effectively in your applications or interviews.
- Next actions
- The practical steps to take, in priority order, with any important deadlines or dependencies.
Your written action plan is sent within 3 working days of the session. You can also send short follow-up questions by email for a week afterwards.
Who runs the session
Your session is with an actuary from the Acttuary team who understands the profession, qualification and application process.
We limit the number of sessions available so that they can be delivered properly alongside our actuarial work. More about who we are.
Booking and cancellation
- Sessions are available Monday to Thursday, 6pm to 9pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 12pm UK time.
- Bookings can be made from 48 hours ahead and up to 6 weeks in advance.
- Your written action plan is sent within 3 working days of the session.
- Sessions can be moved or cancelled without charge up to 24 hours before the booking. See the terms and refunds policy for the full conditions.
- We will be straightforward if we think an application plan has weaknesses.
We are not recruiters and cannot secure an interview, referral or job offer. The purpose of the hour is a better-informed decision and a clear plan you can act on.
