Deloitte actuarial graduate scheme, internship, placement year, school leaver route and deadlines

A large consultancy. The actuarial work is advice sold to clients: pension scheme trustees and the companies that sponsor them, insurers, and investors. Every actuarial route we follow at Deloitte is below, with the window in the employer’s own words, the closing date where one is published, and the day it was last read.

What to know
Deloitte has published when it opens. Its own Early Careers Application Timelines page prints a table of business areas against opening dates, and the Actuarial row reads “Some roles on 28th September & some roles on 5th October”; a separate row covers Scotland, “Applications for all our Scotland based Graduate, Brightstart, SVS and IP opportunities will open on 21st September”. The same page warns that “the opening and closing dates of roles are indicative and may change due to business needs”, so read it again rather than trusting the date. Nothing actuarial was open on 9 September 2026: apply.deloitte.co.uk/UKEarlyCareers is a register-your-interest form. Deloitte publishes no closing date and says only that some roles feature one on the advert, and that it closes applications early when volumes are high, so apply as early as you can. It also operates a strict one application per year policy across its early careers opportunities. Its own actuarial business-area page names the offices, London, Edinburgh, Bristol, Manchester and Belfast, and three specialisms: Actuarial Insurance, the Capital Markets Group, and Banking Analytics and Financial Resource Management.

What to know
Deloitte's own programmes page says “The scheme will run during summer 2027, with an expected start date of 28 June. The programme lasts 4-6 weeks, depending on the business area you apply to.” It is for students in the penultimate year of a degree or going on to a Master's, and most of its vacation schemes ask for a predicted 2:1 or above in any discipline. The opening date is on Deloitte's Early Careers Application Timelines page, whose Actuarial row reads “Some roles on 28th September & some roles on 5th October” and whose Scotland row names SVS explicitly, opening on 21st September. That page also warns its dates are indicative and may change, and Deloitte operates a strict one application per year policy across its early careers opportunities.

What to know
Deloitte's Early Careers Application Timelines table is keyed by business area rather than by route, so the Actuarial row covers the industrial placement too, and its Scotland row names IP outright: “Applications for all our Scotland based Graduate, Brightstart, SVS and IP opportunities will open on 21st September”. The same page warns its opening and closing dates are indicative and may change. One caution on the dates of the placement itself: Deloitte's programmes page has not rolled its industrial placement section to the cycle that opens this month, and still reads “Placements run from September 2026 to August 2027.”, which is the cohort already in post rather than the one you would be applying for. It also operates a strict one application per year policy across its early careers opportunities.

What to know
BrightStart is Deloitte's school leaver route and its own programmes page pairs it with actuarial work: the apprenticeship section lists the career paths it leads to, among them “Actuarial : Solving complex challenges through statistics and analytical modelling.” The bar it publishes is “If you have completed your A-Levels (or Highers in Scotland) with a minimum of 104 UCAS points from your top 3-A levels, you can apply.”, it is a permanent job from the start, and it takes between 15 months and 4 years depending on the business area. Deloitte's Early Careers Application Timelines page carries the opening date, its Actuarial row reading “Some roles on 28th September & some roles on 5th October” and its Scotland row naming Brightstart explicitly, opening on 21st September, and it warns those dates are indicative and may change. Deloitte's actuarial business-area page does not name BrightStart, so the pairing rests on the programmes page.
