Pension Protection Fund actuarial school leaver route and deadlines

An in-house pensions team. The actuarial work sits inside the scheme, or inside the employer that sponsors it, rather than in a firm selling advice to it. Every actuarial route we follow at Pension Protection Fund is below, with the window in the employer’s own words, the closing date where one is published, and the day it was last read.

What to know
The statutory lifeboat for defined benefit schemes, with its own in-house actuarial and investment teams in Croydon. The live route on 24 August 2026 was a speculative register: you apply once, and the PPF contacts you when a suitable apprenticeship opens. No actuarial-badged early-careers vacancy was live at that read; actuarial and trainee roles post to the same vacancies board, so check it directly.

What to do now

Applications are open. Rolling recruitment closes plenty of these schemes as soon as they are full, so the closing date is a ceiling rather than a plan: apply in the first week you can, and get the numerical tests out of the way before the window shuts.
