What to know: Berkshire Hathaway's direct reinsurer. Gen Re does run a branded scheme: its own P&C Graduate Scheme page calls it “Our 24-month trainee programme for academic graduates”, says you join as an actuary or underwriter, and puts its induction as a two-week training series for trainees from Cologne and London. Read 9 September 2026, it says “Our 24-month Graduate Scheme will start in September 2026 in Cologne / London” and “We have one vacancy open for 15th September 2026 in Cologne.”, and the actuary role it names is placed in Cologne, so there is no London actuarial seat to apply for today and no application window anywhere on the page. Its careers page adds that actuarial roles make up over 12 percent of its workforce and that entry-level positions after university start at trainee or associate level. Gen Re's own vacancy board is a JavaScript shell, so its live London roles cannot be read or quoted here.
